Responsibilities
A highly technical and strategic "player-coach" role owning the end-to-end execution, system architecture, and team leadership for global marketing automation, high-volume email marketing, service communications, and in-product messaging.
Team & Agency Management: Act as a "player-coach" to mentor and develop a hybrid team of 6 (3 FTEs, 3 working students). Direct external agency partners for key technical projects (e.g., platform migration).
Customer Journey Consulting: Serve as the central strategic consultant for internal stakeholders (Global Campaign Team, Product Marketing, Customer Lifecycle Team), advising on optimal customer journeys, database segmentation, and conversion pathways.
Platform Business Ownership: Oversee the overall system architecture and capabilities for HubSpot, Inxmail, and Pendo's in-product communication/ad space.
Tech Stack Alignment: Collaborate closely with System Admins and the Marketing Technology team to ensure robust CRM integrations, system scalability, and pristine data hygiene across all platforms.
Governance & Email Planning: Own and manage the global email calendar to orchestrate send frequencies, prioritize cross-functional campaigns, and prevent database fatigue across all user segments. Additionally, manage team capacity, define operational processes, establish best practices, and maintain SLAs.
End-to-End Build & Deployment: Own the full technical implementation directly within the tools. Strategize, build, and troubleshoot complex data capture, lead enrichment, ABM campaigns, multi-channel nurture flows, newsletters, and lead scoring/qualification.
Free User Ecosystem & Service Emails: Operate and optimize the mass email tool to manage high-volume email marketing specifically targeted at the large free user base, and own the technical execution of critical service emails.
Lifecycle & Conversion Marketing: Build and deploy "always-on" campaigns and targeted in-product messaging to drive feature adoption, user retention, and accelerate freemium-to-paid trial conversions.
Asset & Data Management: Manage global email templates, dynamic content logic, and complex database segmentation strategies.
Analytics: Continuously monitor performance, execute rigorous A/B testing, and optimize ROI, deliverability, and engagement across all automated channels.
Requirements
Technical & Architectural Expertise: Deep operational proficiency and architectural understanding of MAPs such as HubSpot or Marketo (migration experience), mass email tools, Pendo, and complex CRM integrations.
Working Style: True "player-coach" mentality. Highly analytical and proactive, capable of balancing high-level architectural strategy and stakeholder consulting with deep-dive technical troubleshooting.
Stakeholder & Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex technical projects, guide cross-functional teams, and oversee technical external agency relationships without disrupting daily operations.
Languages: Business fluency in English (written and spoken).
