Staff Software Engineer, Web Frontend — Platform Services
Lead frontend development with React, crafting scalable, high‑performance UIs. Drive modern tech adoption, visualize complex data, and mentor developers in a forward‑thinking team.
TeamViewer provides a leading Digital Workplace platform that connects people with technology—enabling, improving and automating digital processes to make work work better. Our software solutions harness the power of AI and shape the future of digitalization.
We believe that our diverse teams and strong company culture are key to the success of our products and technologies, that hundreds of millions of users around the world and around 645,000 customers across all industries rely on. With more than 1,900 employees worldwide, we celebrate the unique perspectives and talents that each individual brings to the table and foster a dynamic work environment where new ideas thrive. Are you ready to join our team and make an impact?
Every product feature our customers touch runs through the platform you'll help build. Our team owns the foundation, the shared components, state architecture, data flows, and performance infrastructure that dozens of feature teams build on every day. When we ship an improvement, it multiplies across the entire company. This is not a maintenance role. We're in the middle of an ambitious re-architecture of our platform, and AI-enabled experiences are becoming core to how our products work. You'll be at the intersection of deep technical craft and company-wide impact: the decisions you make will shape how every engineer here builds, and how every customer experiences our products. If you want your work to be the backbone rather than the trim, this is the seat
Responsibilities
• Lead the design and evolution of our React-based platform architecture, serving as the technical anchor for one of the most demanding and highest-leverage projects in the company.
• Own frontend performance end to end: rendering strategy, bundle optimization, data-fetching patterns, and the observability to prove improvements with real-user metrics (Core Web Vitals, INP, TTI).
• Build and integrate AI-enabled features and infrastructure, including streaming LLM responses, real-time inference-driven UI, agentic workflows, and the state/data patterns that make AI experiences feel fast and reliable.
• Define and champion state management strategy across the platform, choosing the right tool for the job across Redux, Zustand, and RxJS-based reactive patterns, and guiding teams on when and how to use each.
• Evolve our build and developer-experience tooling on Vite, keeping local iteration fast and production builds lean as the codebase scales.
• Partner closely with Product and Design to translate UX intent into technical architecture, advocating for the user in technical decisions and for technical reality in product decisions.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, raise the bar through design reviews, and influence engineering direction beyond your immediate team.
• Make pragmatic build-vs-buy and prioritization decisions informed by business context, considering cost, time-to-market, customer impact, and long-term maintainability.
Requirements
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with deep, hands-on expertise in modern React (hooks, concurrent features, server components are a plus).
• Proven track record designing and scaling frontend platforms or design systems used by multiple teams.
• Expert-level knowledge of state management approaches and their trade-offs. You have shipped production systems with Redux (including RTK), Zustand, and reactive streams with RxJS, and can articulate when each approach is most effective.
• Strong command of frontend performance engineering, including profiling, code-splitting, caching strategies, rendering optimization, and measuring impact with real-user monitoring.
• Experience with modern build tooling, ideally Vite, and a strong point of view on developer experience at scale.
• Hands-on experience building AI-enabled user experiences, including integrating LLM APIs, handling streaming and partial responses, designing UI patterns for non-deterministic systems, or using AI-assisted development tooling thoughtfully in your own workflow.
• Genuine UX sensibility. You understand interaction design, accessibility, and perceived performance, and pay attention to the details that improve the user experience.
• Demonstrated business acumen. You connect technical investments to business outcomes, communicate trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders, and know when a pragmatic solution is more valuable than a perfect one.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience driving alignment through documentation, technical specifications, and cross-team collaboration.
• Nice to have: Experience with TypeScript at scale, monorepo tooling (such as Turborepo or Nx), and module federation or micro-frontend architectures.
• Nice to have: Experience with SSR or edge-rendering frameworks and a solid understanding of their performance implications.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG patterns, or evaluating AI-powered features in production environments.
• Nice to have: Previous experience working on platform, infrastructure, or developer-experience teams.
