Responsibilities

The TeamViewer ONE platform finds and resolves IT issues before they affect users. Over the past several years we have successfully built and released products which makes IT administrators' day-to-day life easier. Our vision is to become THE autonomous endpoint management solution for our customers.  

As a Software Architect at TeamViewer, you will be pivotal in shaping the architectural vision and strategy for our software solutions. Your role will involve designing, developing, and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing systems that align with the company’s strategic goals. You will guide architectural decisions, conduct reviews, and provide insights to ensure that our software solutions meet the highest standards of quality, robustness, and adaptability. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that our systems are designed for long-term success, incorporating best practices and emerging technologies. 
These will be the main responsibilities:

• Hands-On Architecture: Actively contribute to the design and development of enterprise-grade software solutions that are scalable, secure, cost-effective, and maintainable. 
• Implementation Support: Work closely with development teams, offering practical, hands-on guidance throughout the full software lifecycle — from concept to deployment. 
• Architectural Strategy: Develop and implement software architecture strategies that align with business goals. Design scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions end-to-end across the whole customer journey. 
• Concept and Design Reviews: Conduct detailed reviews of architectural concepts, providing feedback and suggestions to enhance design quality and system performance. 
• Technical Guidance: Lead technical discussions, mentor team members up to Principle/Architect level, and provide strategic advice on complex technical challenges. 
• AI Integration Awareness: Contribute to solution designs that may involve AI capabilities, understanding where intelligent services or automation can enhance business value. 
• Developer Efficiency: Promote the use of AI-enhanced developer tools like GitHub Copilot and similar IDE-integrated assistants to improve productivity, code quality, and consistency across teams. 
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and operations, marketing, support teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of projects across the whole user journey. 
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation that is clear, concise, and accessible to all relevant stakeholders. 
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to enhance our software architecture. 
• Risk Management: Identify and document potential risks in the architecture, providing strategies to mitigate them effectively. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 
• Over 9-11 years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record in demonstrating mastery withing complex architectures and various domains. 
• Proven track record of delivering hands-on, real-world solutions — not just designing but actively contributing to implementation and troubleshooting. 
• Strong understanding of designing enterprise-grade systems that are scalable, secure, cost-conscious, and maintainable. 
• Deep expertise in at least one modern back-end programming language (e.g. Java, C#, C++), with the ability and willingness to learn new technologies as needed. 
• Solid experience with data systems, including both SQL and NoSQL databases. Understanding of data modeling, performance tuning, and operational considerations at scale. Experience with OLTP and/or OLAP systems is a plus. 
• Familiarity with integrating or leveraging AI services or frameworks in software architectures is a plus. 
• Proficiency in using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, or similar to accelerate development, enhance code quality, and improve developer workflows. 
• Deep expertise in software architecture, development techniques, and tools, including VCS, IDEs, CI/CD, and deployment strategies. 
• Proficient in design and architectural patterns, with a strong focus on SOLID principles and industry best practices. 
• Hands-on development guidance of engineering teams through initial project phases 
• Advanced experience in agile software development, effectively applying it to architectural processes. 
• Strong ability to convey complex architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
• Mastery in recognizing the impact of how changes can affect complex distributed systems. 
• Profound understanding of multi-platform development, non-functional requirements, and requirements engineering and its implications. 
• Lead feasibility studies, provide strategic advice, and guide teams through complex situations. 
• Consistently document complex technical systems and concepts in a structured and standardized manner, making knowledge accessible to others. 
• Commitment to continuous learning and application of the latest technological advancements in software architecture.  
• A pragmatic, outcome-focused mindset that balances technical excellence with business needs and delivery timelines.
