Responsibilities

We are looking for a Work Student Data Engineer AI to support the design, development, and deployment of AI- and ML-powered solutions at TeamViewer. You will join our newly established AI team whose mission is to consult, build, and deploy automation and AI solutions for both internal and external projects. As part of the team, you will work closely with senior data engineers and AI experts, actively contributing to LLM-driven applications, process automation, workflow orchestration, and enterprise integrations.

This position is ideal if you already bring strong technical skills in Python and SQL, combined with curiosity for AI technologies and the ability to self-learn quickly while working on real-world projects.

• Contribute to the development of data pipelines and AI/ML infrastructure for automation and AI projects.
• Actively support building and deploying LLM-driven applications and automation solutions in collaboration with senior engineers.
• Work on data preparation, transformation, and exploration to enable machine learning workflows.
• Apply your knowledge in vector databases, LangChain / LangGraph, and orchestration frameworks to real use cases.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to identify and implement opportunities for AI and automation.
• Explore new tools and approaches in LLMs, AI frameworks, and ML technologies and bring fresh ideas into the team.

Requirements

• Ongoing studies in computer science, data science, machine learning, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Python, including libraries such as pandas, SQLAlchemy, FastAPI, or similar.
• Strong SQL skills, with experience in relational databases and data modeling.
• First hands-on exposure to LLMs (e.g., retrieval-augmented generation, fine-tuning, evaluation).
• Curiosity and ideally practical experience with vector databases and frameworks like LangChain / LangGraph.
• Motivation to work on automation, orchestration, and enterprise AI integrations.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; German is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with MLOps concepts or tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases, etc.).
• Experience with data visualization or lightweight front-end prototypes (e.g., Streamlit, Gradio).
• Previous project work, coursework, or personal projects in machine learning or AI applications.

• Contract location would be  Göppingen or Berlin, Germany

• Our Working Students in Germany receive a monthly salary of €1,566 for a 20-hour/week contract, €1,253 for a 16-hour/week contract, and €1,400 for an internship position.
