Responsibilities

 

We are looking for a Work Student Data Engineer to support the design, development, and operation of data pipelines and cloud-based analytics infrastructure at TeamViewer. You will join our Data Engineering team, contributing to modern data workflows, orchestration, and cloud environments used across the company.

You will work closely with senior data engineers on real production systems, gaining experience in workflow orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, cloud services, and scalable data transformation frameworks. This position is ideal if you bring strong technical skills in Python and SQL and want hands-on experience with modern data engineering tools and platforms.

 

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of robust, scalable data pipelines
  • Work with Apache Airflow to schedule, orchestrate, and monitor workflows
  • Support data transformation processes using dbt
  • Assist in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure using Terraform
  • Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (or comparable platforms like AWS/Azure) for data storage, compute, and processing
  • Support ETL/ELT processes, including data modeling, documentation, and quality checks
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to understand data needs and improve existing systems
  • Explore and implement new tools, frameworks, and best practices in data engineering

 

Requirements

 

  • Ongoing university studies in computer science, data engineering, information systems, or a related field
  • At least two years of study time remaining (Q3 2027)
  • Good SQL skills
  • Solid Python programming skills, especially for scripting, data processing, and backend tasks
  • First hands-on experience with Apache Airflow or another workflow orchestration tool
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs (building, consuming, authentication concepts, error handling)
  • Experience with Git and general software development best practices
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, etc.)
  • Interest in infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform) and modern data transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt)
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Fluency in English; German is a plus
